The TDN is a first-of-its-kind regional program pioneered by South Florida’s local academic and economic development institutions with the goal creating internship opportunities to foster the growth of university graduates and local businesses.

Through the Office of Engagement’s coordinated effort, TDN was established upon the One Community One Goal strategic plan. Florida International University, along with six major academic institutions, the Beacon Council and others, work to link talented students with the high-paying internships they need. Local business can identify rising talent early and lend a hand in cultivating South Florida’s future workforce.

The Office of Engagement serves as the operational arm of the initiative. Our goals are:

  • Increase retention, graduation and job placement rates for students
  • Increase the availability of paid internship opportunities
  • Match students with prospective employers
  • Align internship programs with key learning outcomes

TDN was the medium that allowed me to find out about the opportunity. I reached out to TDN, submitted my resume and respective info, and within two weeks I was being called for an interview.Alma Ramirez, Healthcare MBA

The Office of Engagement welcomes public, private and non-profit industry partners to support the effort, as well as other academic institutions who wish to become involved. There are many ways the community can support TDN. Learn how you can support TDN.
