Supporting Our Community at FIU Engagement

Community engagement is a central tenet of FIU and has been since FIU's founding 50 years ago. Community engagement activities, programs and initiatives can be found throughout the university. FIU has received the Carnegie Community Engaged University classification since the Office of Engagement opened its doors in 2010 – this is a testament to the institutionalization of community engagement and the alignment of such across our mission, culture, and leadership.

Community Outreach Events

Through events and programs, the Office of Engagement is able to connect community stakeholders and external partners with FIU faculty, staff, researchers, students, and resources. Our events serve as catalysts for different organizations and stakeholders to engage and connect while discussing some of the most pressing challenges our communities are facing daily.
