Diann Newman, EdD

Diann Newman has been an educator/administrator at Florida International University since 1975. She has served FIU in roles ranging from the Director of Admissions to Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies to her current role as Director of Student Services for the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Diann currently teaches Leadership Training for Teambuilding at FIU. She has received recognition in the University for Excellence in Advising and Teaching as well as receiving the University Access and Equity Award. She is the Chairperson of the Diversity Day committee, an annual event held at the Biscayne Bay Campus.

Diann is a professional speaker and workshop facilitator. She conducts seminars on topics such as self-esteem and communication skills. She is licensed in Florida as a Mental Health Counselor and has co-authored the book, Human Resource Management: A Customer-Oriented Approach (Prentice-Hall, 1998).
