Adam M. Drisin, MDesS

Adam M. DrisinSince 2004, Professor Adam M. Drisin has served as the chair of the School of Architecture and director of graduate programs at FIU’s College of Architecture + The Arts. Previously, Drisin taught at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, the University of Tennessee, Cornell University and Syracuse University, where he served as Resident Director of the University’s architectural study abroad program in Italy. His scholarship and teaching focus on architectural pedagogy, architectural and urban design, as well as the history, theory and criticism of design.

Drisin’s design work and scholarship have been published in leading international journals and magazines. He has won numerous national and international awards.

He currently sits on the editorial board of The Journal of Architectural Education, the pre-eminent peer-reviewed academic journal of architecture, is a member of the Board of Directors for Florida’s American Institute of Architects, and serves on the Executive Board the Miami Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Since 2004, he has been active with numerous organizations focusing on design, education and urban development including those of DawnTown:Miami, The Miami chapter of Architecture for Humanity and Miami’s High School of Arts & Architecture. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University and the Master of Design Studies from Harvard University.
